Orion is a sci-fi thriller that centers around a NASA interrogator, Jim (Andrew McCarthy), helping to uncover the events that led astronaut, Apollo (Andrew Van Acker), and his crew to crash land back on Earth leaving him the sole survivor.  The film successfully uses its limited set to amplify the growing mystery and reveal a message of significant scope. It is intense and intimate with the bulk of the film relying on Van Acker and McCarthy’s dynamic. The mystery delivers sci-fi and suspense, echoing the style of The Twilight Zone, executed with an indie budget. Orion provokes viewers into questioning the world around them.

Orion had its world premiere at FilmQuest in Provo, Utah on October 25th and its international premiere at Triste Film Festival on November 1st.

SciFi Vision recently had the opportunity to speak with star Van Acker and Director Jaco Bouwer about filming Orion.

In the most recent episode of Tulsa King, which aired Sunday on Paramount+, pressure mounts as Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) and his team work to keep their bourbon operation afloat. When Manfredi arranges a meeting with New York mob boss Quiet Ray Renzetti (James Russo), who is demanding a piece of the business, the encounter quickly escalates, with both men trading accusations and threats, culminating in a violent shootout when Cole Dunmire (Beau Knapp) ambushes the gathering. Quiet Ray, now convinced Dwight tried to set him up, refuses his attempts at reconciliation, indicating that the feud will only continue to intensify.

Recently, Russo spoke with SciFi Vision about working on the series, including Quiet Ray's feud with Dwight, filming the shootout, and more.

Following the downfall of the Russian mafia and the shocking prison warden murder, the fourth season of Mayor of Kingstown, which premieres today on Paramount+, thrusts Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) into chaos as a new power vacuum leaves the city vulnerable to threats. Mike’s grip on Kingstown is slipping as new gangs move in and tensions escalate, especially within the prison walls, where a hardened new warden (Edie Falco) makes her presence felt and confronts Mike’s established system. Mike faces a new challenge with his brother Kyle (Taylor Handley) now in trapped in the dangerous prison environment for making a controversial decision in last season’s violent climax, and the arrival of Frank Moses (Lennie James) brings unflinching brutality to the city.

The second season of The Couple Next Door follows Charlotte (Annabel Scholey) and Jacob Roberts (Sam Palladio), a married couple and medical professionals living on the same street as the characters viewers met in season one. Charlotte works as a heart surgeon and Jacob is an anesthetist. They appear happy, but their seemingly stable relationship begins to unravel with the arrival of their new colleague, Mia (Aggy K. Adams), a nurse with a troubled past who moves in next store. Mia gradually becomes involved with both Charlotte and Jacob, disrupting their marriage. Charlotte’s ex-partner, Leo (Sendhil Ramamurthy), also returns and stirs past emotions, complicating matters further and causing Jacob to become increasingly desperate to save his marriage. In the season finale, which airs today on Starz, the truth behind Mia’s real identity is revealed, and Jacob’s hidden crimes come to light as he is pushed even closer to the edge.

The third season of Apple TV+’s sci-fi hit Invasion has been a journey and sometimes a slog - literally. Trevante (Shamier Anderson, John Wick 4), Jamila (India Brown, Honey Bunch), Aneesha (Golshifteh Farahani, Paterson) and Mitsuki (Shioli Kitsuna, Deadpool & Wolverine) traveled across the world looking for answers, only to find themselves stranded in the dead zone. Hiking through the forest, low on oxygen and options, they’re running out of time to destroy the alien hive mind.

In advance of the season’s tenth and final episode, SciFi Vision spoke with Stephen Tracey, the actor who plays Sergeant Reese. As part of Trevante’s WDC unit, Reese has survived a helicopter crash, fought alien hunter-killers, and traded bullets with Infinitas guerillas. Can he survive the mission?

Reese won’t spoil his characters fate, but he did share some insight about Reese’s attitude toward Trevante, along with plenty of details on shooting those actions sequences and working with aliens. He also spoke briefly about his experience on another fantastic science fiction show, The Expanse.
